Publications
More than a decade ago, Bill Edgar and Joe Doherty took on the role of co-coordinators of the European Observatory on Homelessness, a role that continued until 2008. During this period, Bill and Joe, with colleagues, edited 5 books and produced a series of reports, each of which provided comprehensive transnational analysis of aspects of homelessness in Europe. Researchers, service actitioners and policy makers in Europe and indeed further afield, concerned with homelessness have all benefited enormously from the personal and academic qualities that Bill and Joe brought to their work with the Observatory. This collection of essays provide a robust base to assess future research priorities on homelessness in Europe, and are a tribute to Bill Edgar and Joe Doherty, for their collegiality and friendship, and for ensuring that a rigorous and policy relevant research culture was fostered within the Observatory.

European Review of Statistics on Homelessness (Edgar, 2009) This report has two main objectives. First, it collates the development of ideas relating to the measurement of homelessness and housing exclusion in Europe that were presented in previous publications of the European Observatory on Homelessness. This should provide a single source of reference for those interested in the topic. Second, it updates information on homelessness and housing exclusion for all those member states for which information is available.
